Catherine Noppe
An art historian, Catherine Noppe was curator of the Far Eastern and Southeast Asian collections of the Royal Museum of Mariemont from 1981 to 2018 and specialized in the study of Asian ceramics and Buddhist art. At Mariemont, she organized several exhibitions and wrote the catalogs. She has also organized biannual study days entitled "Rencontres bouddhiques" (2010-2017) and "Escale au Japon" (2010-2018). Within the framework of Wallonie-Bruxelles International's activities in Vietnam, she has studied the villages of artisanal potters in the Red River Delta and developed a training program for conservators in national museums (2000-2008). She has also been a lecturer at ENSAV-La Cambre since 1995 and a professor at the Institut Royal Supérieur d'Histoire de l'Art et d'Archéologie de Bruxelles since 2012.
