Katherine Vanderhaeghe
Art historian and tour guide. She holds a doctorate in archaeology and art history from the University of Louvain and specializes in African art. Enthralled by Ethiopia, she has been traveling through this country for 25 years, pursuing the study and recording of body arts and ornaments, her thesis subject. After study trips to Italy, Greece and Egypt, a long stay in Turkey, the land of seventeen civilizations, opened the doors to the Ottoman world, from the Balkans to the Near East. Before going even further along the Silk Road to Iran and Central Asia, cradles of ceramics.
