Marie-Cecile Zinsou
Marie-Cécile Zinsou established the Zinsou Foundation in 2005, in Cotonou (Benin), with the aim of promoting contemporary art. She has been the president of the Foundation since then, as well as its artistic director. In 2013, she opened the Museum of Contemporary Art in Ouidah, also in Benin.
Since 2021, Marie- Cécile Zinsou has been the president of the Administrative Council of the French Academy in Rome, in the Villa Medici, and, since 2019, vice-president of the Administrative Council of the Islamic Cultural Institute in Paris. She also chairs the Maison Maria Casarès in Charente (France), a cultural centre that brings together projects focused on the theatre. An Officer of the French Ordre des Arts et des Lettres, she was also awarded the Praemium Imperiale - Grants for Young Artists, in Japan, in 2014, for her work on behalf of the Zinsou Foundation.
