Virgil Loyer

Since 2001, he has been practicing a cinematography of the real, a documentary and poetic research that has been expressed in classic audiovisual formats, short and medium-length films, as well as in transdisciplinary forms for theater and dance in particular. He says that his work is a kind of parietal art. He questions the wall and the skin, the gesture and the sign, the hand and the writing. Has directed films on writer Marcel Moreau, actor Denis Lavant, painter Alechinsky, musician Benoist Bouvôt, choreographers Christine Bastin and Veronica Vallecillo, ceramist Alain Gaudebert, on Nicole Giroud (visual artist) and today on Gisèle Buthod-Garçon. Since 2014, he practices in parallel a potter activity.
